Haze was developed in California in the 1960s and 70s by crossing some of the best tropical sativas which had been imported during that period.
This mythic sativa, which has been the base for the breeding of the best hybrids for the past decades, was close to disappear in the 80s from the breeding scene, due the introduction of the skunk and indica strains.
Oldtimer’s Haze population has been preserved intact until today by Oldtimer, a british breeder, and then reproduced by our breeders using a wide variety of parental plants.
This pure Haze still preserves the genetic diversity that many present Haze lines have already lost, and it is possible to find phenotypes ranging from the mythic and nearly extinct “Purple Haze” to the most common “Green Haze” phenotype, and of course intermediate combinations as well.
Oldtimer’s Haze has an incalculable value for every preservationist, collector and breeder that is looking for a pure Haze population that still preserves the quality and original genetic diversity of this mythic sativa hybrid.

Growing Tips |
For indoor growing, due to its extreme tropical sativa genotype, we mostly recommend her for the extreme sativa lovers, for breeding projects or for seed production.
For outdoor growing, it requires a tropical or subtropical climate in order to reach its full potential. However, it can easily be grown within latitudes of 20º-37º, where we recommend a warm and coastal climate. The use of a greenhouse is very helpful for its correct ripening in non tropical latitudes. Oldtimer’s Haze is a very dominant plant when it is outcrossed. It shines again with all her original splendor and vigour when it is correctly combined with other strains, producing outstanding hybrids with the mythic aroma and effect that has made this sativa famous worldwide. In case you want to grow a strain with the best traits of our Haze parental plants, that keeps the Haze essence of a super tropical sativa, then we would recommend strains like Purple Haze Malawi, Panama Haze, Purple Haze Thai or Haze x Kali China, in order to get much more vigour, yield and potency. It requires low levels of nutrients, especially of Nitrogen. For outdoor growing, we recommend to mix a good base of organic soil rich in guano and worm casting, and then place the plants in a sunny place and leave them to grow at their own rhythm, almost without using fertilizers or stimulators. |
