Cannabis Activist Acquitted Due To Lack Of Police Evidence
Veteran cannabis law reform activist Dakta Green has had his case dismissed in court today after defending what he calls “false and malicious charges.”
Mr Green accused police of manufacturing evidence and pursuing a vendetta against him in an effort to derail his cannabis law reform activities.
A 45-year-old man who cultivated eight cannabis plants at home has been jailed for three years and fined €3,000.
A total of 34 cannabis plants have been found at various addresses in the past week, with two people arrested.
PC Andy White said: “We want to make it clear that drugs of any kind will not be tolerated and we will take action to make sure those involved are brought to justice.”
Sophisticated drug factories are harvesting cannabis plants worth millions of pounds across West Yorkshire.
Organised gangs are using derelict buildings and houses to produce the class B drug on an industrial scale.
